It hurts to know that Ray is going through this struggle, thinking that straight Christians aren't willing to listen or won't try to understand. The Body of Christ has been likened to a hospital for sinners, not a social club for saints. And I know Ray said he doesn't want to discuss Scripture, but the Bible is the only thing worth consulting in a time like this.

Galatians 6:1,2 advises, "Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." (NASB) This is not sanctimonious "proof-texting", as some reactionary types might brand it. Rather, it is the wisdom of God spoken through the Apostle Paul. It is what Jesus would tell us to do.

Jude, the half-brother of our Lord, wrote a similar admonition in the 22nd and 23rd verses of his letter: "And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh."
(NASB)

It is not my mission to condemn anyone. I have a full plate judging my own sins. I will answer to Jesus, right along with all other Christians, at the judgment seat of Christ.
(II Corinthians 5:10) But I'll say this in closing: I own the CD that contains Ray's song "Watch The Lamb". I am not ashamed to play it for anyone, including my closest friends.
That song is a masterpiece, no matter what state of mind Ray was in when he recorded it. I honestly pray that Ray will be reconciled to his Saviour, and to his loving family, as well.

In Prov 23 there is a verse that says that If we uncover our sin and confess and renounce it then we will prosper. Ray has never been able to uncover his sin. Specifically, because Christians/evangelicals treat this sin differently from other sins. People can confess, adultery, fornication,on and on and they may get a response of I'll be praying for you. But w/homosexuality you don't know what the person might get. I am certainly not condoning Ray's sin, but this should open the churche's eyes to our sin and our failures. My prayer is that now that his sin is in the open that after he has even lived this lifestyle for a while, that he comes to grips with the fact that he's a sinner that needs Jesus.. That homosexuality is a temptation for him just like drugs, lust and other sins are a temptation to others. they have to deal with it, so he has to deal with his by submitting it to the Lord. I actually watched his concert at the Gay church and during my viewing just prayed for him. This man has been in pain for a long time. My prayer is that this precious man be set free and that whether it be a year from now or on his death bed (sooner rather than later) that he can experience true repentance. Right now I believe he will live this lifestyle for a while. Going to the Gay church actually made him feel accepted and loved which is what he needs. But on top of that he needs someone to mix acceptance, love and truth. His songs have blessed my heart and my goal is to pray for him anytime I remember him. I want to see him in heaven

What a sad situation with Boltz. I do hope the Christian world will pray for him and also exhort him. Remember that we are called to exhort one another when we see a brother in sin. Here's a fictional conversation between Ray Boltz and Jesus...

i dont really know where to begin... i think its wrong for any person to judge another. yes, all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God... but thats the reality. we ARE all sinners. we are NOT perfect. each person is in their own place with God and each person is the only one, aside from God, who knows where that place is. God loves everyone. Even those who rebel against him. Each of his creations is precious. what right do we have as human beings to judge on of God's glorious creations for being who he feels he was created to be. yes it is sad that we may feel he has chosen the wrong path for his life... but whats even more sad is that, as Christians, we judge him where we have no place to judge. It is HIS choice, not ours. love him and accept him and do not treat him differently. as a Christian your goal is to be more like Jesus... and Jesus loves everyone. i do not support the fact that he is Gay... but that doesnt stop me from listening to his music. and it will not stop me from loving him as a brother in Christ Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal LIFE! -John 3:16-

Ray Boltz
I will not condemn you because ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But if your really "Pledge allegience to the Lamb" as you have confessed in your song, then let the Holy Spirit help you to overcome sin. Where sin abounds, Grace did much more abound. But, shall we continue in sin, that Grace may abound? No Ray, God forbid. I pray that you will make the right decision to turn away from this desire and maybe some day children who are challenged with the same desire, will look at the example that your have set. If you allow the Spirit to help you turn away, many children will say "Thank you for Giving to the Lord, I have a life that was changed".

Still love you!

What many homosexuals don't realize is that the Blood of Jesus wasn't just for the forgiveness of SINS, but it has the power to heal, to deliver and to set free those who are held in bondage, addictions and sins they are enslaved and trapped by. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
